Skolforum 2018

Meet Inicio at Skolforum in a workshop with Mark Smith and in the maker area

The future of learning and equality in education are major topics in relation to schools and various forums discussing how to modify curriculum, develop new pedagogical methods, enhance digital skills and reduce segregation.

Inicio contributes to Skolforum 2018 on 29-30 October in several ways. We have a stand in the exhibition hall where you can come and learn about our mentorspace concept and mentor network, our events and workshops and our development of learning analytics.  Meet Inicio at C03:15.

Hands-on classroom learning activity involving computational thinking and programming
Come and hear Mark Smith share his thoughts about Mentoring, Programming and using your stuff. The interactive workshop at 15.30 in C2 seminar hall on Monday 29 October will look at ways to address the problems around bringing Computation thinking and Programming into the classroom. It will be of interest to educators as well as school or community leaders concerned with the level of digital literacy all citizens need to have. The hands-on example of a classroom learning activity will be applicable to topics in science, technology, mathematics and computing.

Hands-on workshop for teachers – build an artbot and develop new skills with tech
We make it easy to start working with tech and digital skills by integrating several school subjects in a very simple but fun art-robot activity. With the artbot anyone can understand what is meant by a robot and how different designs can influence its functions. At Inicio we develop our own tech-kits to fit with school curricula and different age groups. We are an external resource to teachers and schools with our network of mentors from technical master programs or other university degrees. In our workshops we mentor both on technical skills but also about digital literacy and tech in a social and sustainable context. Welcome to join our workshops at 13.30-14.30 on 29thand 30th October in the maker arena at Skolforum.
